From the test bench to the named cause

Four stages that build on each other. You can enter at any of them, and each one hands over something you keep — data, a model, or a conclusion with its evidence attached.

Measurement and test planning

A noise problem is decided before the first run: whether the data can carry the answer at all.

  • Run matrices for speed ramps, load steps and coast-down, derived from the orders that have to be separated
  • Sensor and tacho layout, so shaft angle is available for every channel that will be analysed
  • Sampling rate, block length and ramp rate checked against the lowest order of interest

Order analysis and separation

Shaft-synchronous analysis referenced to every load-carrying mesh, not just to one arbitrary shaft.

  • Gear mesh orders, their harmonics and the sidebands around them, resolved per reference shaft
  • Overlapping excitations separated instead of averaged together
  • Bearing and shaft signatures traced across the whole operating range

Root cause attribution

From an order to a component: the kinematic model of the gearbox turns a frequency into a name.

  • Kinematic model of the gear train, including planetary stages, clutches and multiple load paths
  • Candidate causes per element, derived from the model rather than guessed
  • Ranked hypotheses with the evidence for and against each

Reports, reviews and second opinions

Results that hold up in a design review, and a frozen analysis version behind every figure.

  • Reproducible documentation down to the analysis parameters
  • Review of existing measurement campaigns and the conclusions drawn from them
  • A second opinion where two teams read the same data differently

Single measurement campaign

One gearbox, one noise complaint, a defined set of runs. Ends with a report that names causes and the evidence for them.

Recurring analysis support

Ongoing evaluation of your test-bench data during a development phase, with access to the analysis platform for your team.

Review and second opinion

An existing campaign, an existing conclusion, and an independent look at whether the data actually supports it.
